Edit a block

In the block editor, you build a block from sections (layout, heading, and display conditions) and content (text, images, forms, and more). Use the Preview on the right to see what customers will see as you edit.

Basic settings

• Block name: A name used only in the app admin. Customers don’t see it.
• Display location: Where the block appears: order details, order list, or profile. If you change it, the block goes back to draft.
• Display ID: A number from 1 to 10 assigned automatically. It can’t be changed. You choose this number when you add the block in the Shopify editor. Each page can have up to 10 blocks.

Sections

A block has one or more sections. Click Add section to add more.

• Layout: Choose 1 column, 1:1, 2:1, 1:2, or 1:1:1, then add content to each column.
• Section heading (optional): A heading shown above the section.
• Display conditions and display period: Choose which customers see each section, and when (display conditions).

Content

Use Add content in each column to add rich text, images, links, forms, and more. See content types for the full list.

• Group content can only be used in 1- or 2-column layouts.

Languages

Use Language to edit to switch between Japanese and English and enter text for each. Customers see the text that matches the language of their customer account.

Published and draft

• Only Published blocks are shown to customers.
• Draft blocks aren’t shown. Blocks created from a template start as drafts.
• A block with no content can’t be published.

Duplicate and delete

Click Duplicate in the blocks list to make a copy of a block. This is handy when you want a similar block, or the same block with different display conditions.

Deleted blocks can’t be restored. You can’t delete a published block, so change it to draft first.
