Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Genius Account (“the app”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you install and use the app on your Shopify store, and when you visit our website at genius-account.com (“the website”).
Genius Account is a Shopify app that lets merchants customize their store’s customer accounts.
1. Information we collect from your store
When you install the app, we receive only what the app needs to work, through the Shopify API:
- Your store’s domain
- A Shopify access token, the permissions (scopes) you granted, and their expiry
When you open the contact form in the app’s Help page, we also read your store owner’s name and your store’s email address to prefill the form. They are only shown in the form and are not stored unless you send it.
2. Information we don’t collect
The app does not collect or store personal information about your customers (shoppers), such as their names, addresses, email addresses, or orders. The content of the blocks shown in customer accounts is created by you, the merchant.
The app does not use cookies or tracking technologies.
3. How we use information
We use the information above only to:
- Authenticate your store with the app
- Save and load your settings, such as blocks, and show them in your customer accounts
- Respond to your questions and bug reports
4. Where information is stored and when it is deleted
- The information in section 1 is stored in the app’s database.
- Your settings, such as blocks, are stored in your Shopify store (as metafields), not on our servers.
- When you uninstall the app, Shopify notifies us (via webhook), and we delete your store’s information from our servers.
5. Sharing and service providers
We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties, except where required by law.
We use service providers to run the app, such as for server hosting, and we oversee them appropriately. The providers we use for support requests and attachments are listed in section 7.
6. Website analytics
The website uses Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use it so we can improve it. Clarity uses cookies and similar technologies to record page views, clicks, and scrolling, including heatmaps and session recordings. Sensitive information, such as what you type into forms, is masked before it is recorded. Microsoft processes the recorded data.
7. Support requests
When you contact us through the app’s Help page, the website’s contact form, or email, we receive what you send, such as your name, email address, store URL, and message. We use it to review and respond to your request, and may also use it to improve the app and the website.

- Your message is sent to our support inbox by email, together with your store’s domain. We use Resend to send the email and Cloudflare Email Routing to receive it. Resend keeps a record of sent emails for a limited time.
- If you include diagnostics with a bug report, we also receive the size, item count, and last-updated time of the app’s settings. Diagnostics never include the content of your settings or any personal information about your customers.
- Attachments (images, videos, and PDFs) are stored in a Shopify store that we operate for support. The email contains only a link to the file in that store’s admin.

Contact form on the website
The website’s contact form uses Google Forms. What you enter is stored on Google’s servers and processed by Google. Google may also use cookies and similar technologies on the page that shows the form.
How long we keep support requests
We keep support requests (emails and attachments) as support records. They are not deleted automatically when you uninstall the app. To have them deleted, contact us at the address in section 11.
8. Security
We take appropriate measures, such as encrypting data in transit and restricting access, to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, and alteration.
9. Requests from your customers
Because the app does not store personal information about your customers, there is no data for the app to provide or delete in response to their requests (Shopify’s customers/data_request and customers/redact). Your customers should contact your store directly about their personal information.
10. Your rights
Under the GDPR and other applicable data protection laws, you can ask us for access to, or deletion of, the data we hold about you. Contact us at the address in section 11. We will verify your identity and respond without undue delay.

12. Changes to this policy
