Show a block

Show a block in customer accounts in three steps: create it in the app, add it in the Shopify editor, and publish it.

This example adds one block to the profile page. The order status and order list pages work the same way.

Create the block

1. Open Blocks in the app menu and click Create block.
2. Under Select usage, choose Profile block.
3. Click Start from a blank block. If one fits what you need, you can also start from a template.
4. Enter a Block name, then use Add content to add content to the section.
5. Check how it looks in the Preview on the right, then click Save.

When you save, the block is given a Display ID (1–10). You’ll need it in the next step, so check it in the blocks list.

Add the block in the Shopify editor

1. In your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Customer accounts and click Customize.
2. At the top of the editor, switch to the page where you want the block (the profile page in this example).
3. Where you want the block to appear, click Add block and add Genius Account Blocks from the apps.
4. In the block settings, choose the Display ID you noted in the previous step.
5. Click Save in the editor.

Publish the block

Draft blocks aren’t shown in customer accounts. In the block editor in the app, switch the status to published.

Then log in as a customer and check that the block appears on the profile page.

If the block doesn’t appear

• Is the block Published?
• Does the Display ID you chose in the editor match the block you want to show?
• Did you click Save in the editor?
• On the Free plan, customers see only section headings and rich text. Other content isn’t shown (compare plans).
